Since its inception in 2002, GAAFAM, has produced various classes,
workshops, lectures and presentations. Currently based in East St. Louis,
Illinois, Genesis Academy of Arts & Fine Arts Ministry will become a
faith based K-12 fine arts school which will incorporate core classroom
curriculum with a fine arts program. It is our prayer to have the financial
backing and community support needed to open the doors of GAAFAM.
The purpose of this ministry is to introduce, instruct, train and provide a
Christian based educational and performance platform by offering classes,
workshops, conferences, and lecture-demonstrations in the following
areas: fine arts, theatre, dance, music, poetry, multi-media, and modeling
with core academic classes and Bible Study. GAAFAM will educate
young people who will then feed into Genesis Arts Ministry to minister.

Summer Session (click here for more information)
The GAAFAM Summer Session is an intense arts experience. We invite dynamic musicians, teachers,
choreographers and ministers from locally and abroad, to share their special gifts and talents with participants. Each
student participates in daily bible study and is exposed to the awesome power of ministering through music, dance,
poetry and art. Summer Session concludes with a closing worship service where the campers minister everything
they have learned and a guest speaker delivers a message related to our theme. In 2004 we were blessed to have
four baptisms, in 2005 we doubled the number of participants and in 2006 we intensified the experience by adding
core education classes in math, health and science, and language arts.
Due to our major restoration efforts for the Genesis Arts Center we will not host a Summer
Session in 2009. Please continue to check our site for details about Summer Session 2011.
Ron Carter and NIU Jazz Ensemble

and the band has returned every year . In April 2011, Ron Carter and NIU Jazz Ensemble performed at the Sheldon
Concert Hall in St. Louis, MO with guest artist, Randy Brecker. Ron Carter, an educator and outstanding musician
taught in East St. Louis School District 189 for many years and returned to help support the vision of GAAFAM.
